Party budget planner
A party budget comes down to a few numbers: how many people are coming, what you'll spend per person on food and drinks, and the one-time costs that don't grow with the guest list. This planner does that arithmetic on your numbers. Enter your guest count, your per-person food and drink costs, and the totals for cake, decorations, rentals and paper goods; it adds a cushion for surprises and shows the total budget and what each guest costs. It knows nothing about prices where you live, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
How the math works
- It uses only the numbers you enter. Nothing is looked up or assumed about prices in your area.
- Food = adults × food per adult + kids × food per kid. Drinks = adults × drinks per adult; there is no separate drinks line for kids, so fold juice boxes or lemonade into the food-per-kid figure.
- Cake, decorations, rentals and paper goods are one-time totals: they don't grow with the guest list.
- The cushion is the percentage you choose, added on top of everything above. Total budget = food + drinks + one-time costs + cushion.
- Cost per guest = total budget ÷ (adults + kids). Kids count as full guests, so a kid-heavy party shows a lower cost per guest.
